FRIDAY night you missed a great event, the brilliantly entertaining pianist Ben Waters played at Hopcrafts Farm, just across the A43 Buckingham Rd. Entry cost £18.50 including supper.He regularly plays on Jools Holland show and is now teaming up with his good friend Ronnie Wood to go touring. He was somewhat more casually dressed and got us all up dancing too! Excellent night thanks guys. A video of the ‘Towcester backing singers’ when I can work out how to do it of course!!

Today the Little Istanbul a new Turkish Restaurant opens this evening Monday 5th replacing Tiffins. There have been a few changes on the High Street, which hopefully we shall be covering in more detail on the site. The Unicorn is a new hotel/bar/restaurant that has opened in the old care home next to the Green Room. Urban Hound has opened next to Downtown Diner, for dog grooming and other doggie things, Please support these and our existing high street businesses.

On August 19th Hummingbirds have a Rum Tasting evening.  Learn a bit about the evolution of rum and carry out a tasting experience.  Tickets cost £25 per person which includes 6 different rums plus light bites. Places are limited so early booking is advisable. Call 01280 700797 for more info or to book your place, alternatively pop in and see the guys at Hummingbirds. 

On Sunday 21st July 35 people joined us for an Afternoon tea in the presents of the Beautiful Sasparillas. Where they were treated to not only the sounds of the ladies but also a delicious afternoon tea provided by the team at Hummingbirds.

The University of the Third Age, more popularly known as U3A, is an international movement whose aims are the education and stimulation of mainly retired and semi-retired members of the community—those in their third ‘age’ of life. U3A have an open meeting on August 15th at 10am at the Methodist Church on the High Street.  Go along to find out what U3A is all about.

The Brackley Community Dementia Choir is being launched at Winchester House School for singers of all ages and abilities who are suffering from dementia.  Rehearsals are being held in The Forum at Winchester House, High Street every Thursday from 10.20am to 11.00am, Tea, Carers are most welcome and membership of the choir is free. Brackley Town Football update

It all started at 11am and ran until 3pm a Fun Day at Brackley Fire Station, NN13 7DY, in aid of Brackley Town FC’s efforts to restore the club’s main building,  badly damaged in the recent fire as you can see from this aerial shot published in the Brackley Guardian…

A bake sale, raffle and more, along with great prizes, experience the fire engines, take the family and help the Saints rebuild their clubhouse.  The team have set up a GoFundMe Page – Brackley Town FC Stand Together – and bucket collections from the first three friendlies of the season against Oxford United, MK Dons and Northampton has raised over £2000. Well done guys!

At 7pm that evening at the ground was an open forum for all supporters.  As well as hearing an update on the Stand Together campaign, inspirational team manager Kevin Wilkin will preview the season and answer fans’ questions…

(Saturday) Brackley were at home to Alfreton Town on the first Saturday of the new National League North season.   Kicked off  at 3.00pm.
